Job Summary:

Novo Health Services is a leader in healthcare laundry and linen management solutions, committed to operational excellence, safety, and superior customer service.  We are currently looking for a Mender, at our Mebane, NC Healthcare Laundry facility. We are looking for someone who is confident in decision making, can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills. Responsibilities & Duties

  • Efficiently perform repairs on linen products as needed and returning repaired items for functional use.
  • Track all repair activities via manual or computer records.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain repair supplies at an acceptable level.
  • Complete Barrier/Suture testing.
  • Other projects as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of standard sewing practices.
  • Ability to determine items suitable for repair and items to be discarded.
  • Ability to operate sewing machine, heat seal machine, suture tester and any other related equipment with adequate instruction.
  • Basic analytical skills and detail-orientation.
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers as appropriate.
  • Ability to read and understand applicable Standard Operating Procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a fast-paced indoor area with little exposure to dust; moderate exposure to machinery noise; climate-controlled environment; and controlled access.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • One to two years of previous experience in sewing and mending applications preferred.
