Position Summary
• Responsible for interacting by telephone, with patients, physician office, attorney
office, other providers and insurance companies to answer inquiries on claims
processing, account status, services provided, coding issues and care issues.

• High School diploma or equivalent
Licenses and Certification

Experience and Skills
• Technical Experience- 1 year
• Billing and Account Follow-up Experience
• Computer proficiency and 10 Key
• Typing –minimum 40 wpm
• Promotes effective communication skills
Physical Activities
• Intermittent hand manipulation required
• Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds
• Sit for extended periods of time
• Wear headset
Role Specific Responsibilities
o Answers telephone inquiries to resolve outstanding interdepartmental or
external issues including managing voicemail option within guidelines.
o Assist in resolving payment issues.
o Accepts, process and report payments on outstanding account balances.
o Update patient demographic information.
o Provides requested information in a timely manner to the patient/customer
request within HIPPA guidelines.
o Stays current on completion of work lists and assigned reports and ensures
timely completion.
o Allows and processes adjustments/discounts per SIH policy for the insured
and uninsured.
o Stays current on the processes of other areas in order to respond accurately
to callers.
o Uses Home page and other department tools to respond accurately to
callers and refers calls within our guidelines
Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
