McEachern Gallery Manager

Job Description:

The McEachern Art Center is hiring a gallery manager for the 2023-2024 school year. The gallery manager be the assistant to the director of the MAC. The manager will assist with programming, installation of shows, and management of marketing materials.

Gallery Manager Tasks

-Report to the MAC director weekly via in person/zoom meetings

-Attend meetings with visiting artists

-Facilitate gallery openings

-Maintenance of gallery

-Assist with show installation and deinstallation tasks including, but not limited to, painting, patching holes, hanging artwork, installing vinyl, designing graphics, picking up campus deliveries.

Preferred Qualifications

-Eager to learn and pursue long term growth at the MAC

-Willing to come up with new ideas to promote MAC growth

-Organized and well rounded

-Experience working with basic power tools

-Comfortable lifting objects up to 25lbs

-Experience working in Adobe Illustrator and Indesign

-Experience with spatial planning

-This position is located at the McEachern Gallery (332 2nd Street) downtown Macon, approximately 2 miles from main campus. Student must have ability to work off campus.

Pay

-$12 an Hour

Schedule

-This position will be scheduled on an as need basis and will vary weekly based on the needs of the MAC. The director will be able to work around hours that best fit the schedule of the hired gallery manager. Monthly shifts will be discussed with the gallery manager prior to creation of their work schedule.
