Job Specific Working Conditions:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Stewardship & Reporting: Systematically collect, organize, and maintain all financial and operational data, generating accurate and timely monthly reports including budget-to-actuals, statements of activities, and operational performance summaries.
     

  • Performance Analysis & Insight: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial trends, revenue streams, and operational metrics against established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and annual fiscal goals, identifying variances and underlying drivers.
     

  • Strategic Recommendations: Translate complex data into actionable insights and present clear, concise recommendations to ministry leadership, empowering informed decision-making to optimize resource allocation and achieve organizational objectives.

Regional Initiatives Coordinator

Summary:
In partnership with the regional director, oversee at least three region-wide initiatives as well as knowing and upholding all Young Life policies and procedures.


Ministry Functions:
Spiritual Development – “Following Jesus” includes: Prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.

  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines in the context of active participation in a church community.

  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.

  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.

  • Ensure that all Young Life ministry in the region, is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.


  • Leadership Development – “Equipping leaders, committee and staff.” Includes: Key volunteer care, recruiting, teambuilding and training, supervision and vision casting.
  • Assist regional director in casting vision for reaching “every kid” within the region.

  • Assist regional director in developing diverse leadership and ministries.

  • Implement and support regional initiatives, such as a student staff, program, multi-cultural advance and Forward.

  • Work with the regional director, as assigned, to recruit, interview, hire and place staff within the region.

  • Assist regional director, as assigned, in the development and implementation of regional trainings.

  • Conduct assignments or events as assigned by the regional director, including leadership weekends, recruiting days, staff development, leader training and more.


  • Resource Development – “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.
  • As assigned by the RD, visit areas within the region to train committees and staff to help ensure financial health.

  • Help develop and lead the region’s fundraising strategy, ensuring excellence in communication to donors.

  • Be involved with raising the necessary funds to carry out the regional ministry vision as assigned by the RD.

  • As assigned, ensure local area TDS plans, including vision statement and strategy and financial master plan, are implemented and reviewed.

  • Expected to raise a portion of personal budget as agreed upon with the RD.

  • Work with Development staff to identify potential donors for missionwide efforts when appropriate.

  • Coordinate and conduct quality events which reflect Young Life’s capacity to impact kids and warrant the investment of a participant’s personal and corporate resources.

  • Work with the area committee to develop good community and church relationships as assigned by the RD.

  • If appropriate, recruit, develop, encourage and sustain a diverse regional committee.


  • Direct Ministry – “Proclaiming and discipling” includes contact work, club, campaigners and camp.
  • Help lead the region to carry out the summer camping vision. Develop regional camping protocol, monitor and report on progress throughout the region as assigned by the RD.

  • Facilitate the work crew and summer staff process, teach the process to staff to increase the number of kids that had these experiences as assigned by the RD.

  • Visit areas as needed or assigned, including routine and emergency crisis visits as assigned by the RD.

  • Assist the regional director to ensure a regional plan is in place to grow Young Life in the region, including multi-cultural and focus ministries.

  • Maintain ministry contact with kids to the extent it is necessary to be effective in this role.

  • Provide networking opportunities to offer additional camping experiences using non-Young Life camps and discipleship experiences as appropriate to the regional vision.


  • Ministry Support – “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan.
  • Help set yearly regional strategic plan and initiatives; review on a regular basis.

  • Maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct and time management, adhering to all Young Life policies and procedures.

  • Provide clear, prompt, appropriate and professional communication to everyone within the scope of ministry.

  • Develop an appropriate system for reporting, expense report responsibilities and the use of regional funds using Young Life accounting applications.

  • Accept both short and long-term assignments and projects.




  • Education:
  • College degree preferred.


  • Qualifications Required For The Job:
    Completion of Core Training — Phase One.
  • Proven spiritual leader.

  • Proven leadership in developing diverse staff and ministries.

  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adult.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
