Modivcare is looking for an experienced Special Investigator II to join our team. In this role, you will conduct in-depth investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA), gather and analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare comprehensive reports of your findings. You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and contribute to the integrity of our operations.

This role…

  • Analyzes data trends and creates reports to identify suspicious activity and recommend corrective actions.

  • Collaborates with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, legal professionals, and internal departments to support investigations and fraud mitigation efforts.

  • Develops and implements investigative strategies in accordance with industry standards and legal requirements.

  • Maintains detailed case documentation, prepares investigative reports, and provides testimony in hearings or legal proceedings.

  • Provides training and guidance to internal teams on fraud detection and prevention techniques.

  • Conducts detailed interviews, gathers and documents evidence, and compiles findings using structured investigative methods.

  • Applies analytical skills to case reviews and assessments.

  • Communicates findings to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Advises management on FWA investigation processes.

  • Manages inbound and outbound communications related to potential or actual FWA, including mail, email, faxes, and web requests.

  • Reports substantiated FWA allegations to management.

  • Leads status calls with clients or law enforcement regarding FWA allegations.

  • Partners with Network Services on field investigations.

  • Provides outreach and education to members, clients, facilities, law enforcement, and internal teams.

  • Leverages internal and external resources to thoroughly investigate potential or actual FWA.

  • May lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Occasional business travel may be required.

We are interested in speaking with individuals with the following…

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in law enforcement, military, or Special Investigations Unit (SIU).

  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.

  • Quick learner with the ability to understand complex systems and instructions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in English (read, write, speak, understand).

Salary: $46,00 - $62,100
