Clinical Simulation Assistant to provide technical and operational support for the setup, execution, and breakdown of high-fidelity simulation experiences within the nursing and health sciences programs. This position ensures that simulation equipment, manikins, audiovisual systems, and related technologies function efficiently to support high-quality experiential learning. The CSA position is based on the Oxford Campus. In addition, simulation and lab support may also be required on Miami’s Hamilton Campus. It is a full-time, nine-month appointment.Job Description
The Clinical Simulation Assistant:
A successful Clinical Simulation Assistant must be able to think critically and communicate effectively across diverse groups of people. They should also have a fluent ability for time management skills, work prioritization, and a dynamic work environment. This position may work outside routine business hours, in which the CSA will work independently, yet alongside content-expert faculty
The physical work environment may include mechanical/electrical hazards and heavy lifting requirements, such as repositioning the 250-pound simulators. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime and indefinite basis.
Minimum Qualifications: Two-year technical degree or equivalent training in health care related field and/or a computer science related field; proficiency with computer hardware and software applications, such as: PC and/or Mac computers and/or AV equipment.
Consideration may be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in technology or health related field or Clinical Simulation Assistant certification, such as CHSE or CHSOS. Examples include RN, LPN, EMT, paramedic, or a background in Health Information Technology. Experience with high fidelity simulation and healthcare clinical knowledge; self-directed and able to work synergistically with faculty.
