Job Description Summary

The Assistant Field Hockey Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the NCAA Division I program, including coaching, recruiting, player development, and program administration. This position plays a key role in developing student-athletes, implementing competitive strategies, and fostering a positive team culture aligned with the mission and values of Miami University Athletics.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting daily practices, game strategies, and skill-development sessions.

• Provide technical and tactical instruction to student-athletes; develop positional training plans.

• Utilize video technology and data analytics to evaluate team and player performance, produce scouting reports, and support game preparation.

• Support all phases of the recruiting process, including talent identification, evaluation, communication, and official visits.

• Monitor academic progress and support the personal and athletic growth of student-athletes.

• Manage team operations including travel coordination, equipment, budgeting, and compliance documentation.

• Contribute to community engagement, alumni relations, and camps/clinics as assigned.

• Ensure adherence to all NCAA, MAC, and university policies.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Minimum of two years of coaching experience in collegiate field hockey or a comparable elite-level league.

• Collegiate or professional playing experience in field hockey.
