POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist works under the direction of the Payroll Operations Manager. The position will work in collaboration with other Payroll Specialists who will share responsibility for providing daily payroll support including, but not limited to answering employee payroll questions, collecting/sorting/processing the mail, maintaining employee information updates, tax withholding changes, retirement contributions, completing employment verifications, garnishments, liens, expense reimbursements, internal/external payroll reporting, audit of time & attendance entries for accuracy, investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and various other tasks as assigned. The position must communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups and individuals. Exercise good judgment and tact in providing leadership, guidance and assistance. Maintain confidentiality of all work information. The position must be able to work independently while consistently demonstrating the core values of Enloe Health and serve as a role model to other employees.

Must have excellent telephone communication skills and interpersonal skills to maintain a high degree of rapport with managers, co-workers, employees, and the public. Accuracy with 10 key by touch and excellent computer skills & knowledge. Ability to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) computer skills for a variety of support functions. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Health Core Values. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
