We require this student worker is enrolled in a Mercer graduate program and works 20 hours a week in our office at a rate of $11.50 per hour. Student must have a desire to contribute to pre-professional programs, the new student transition process, and Academic and Advising Services initiatives. Specific expectations of students assigned to this site include: 1. Flexibility in weekly schedule to accommodate office projects and activities. 2. Participate in Orientations and PA Trainings. 3. Attend staff meetings and participate in planning exercises as available or as necessary. 4. Perform all tasks in a timely, organized, and professional manner. 5. Maintain confidentiality of any and all student academic records and communications. 6. Communicate freely with supervisors about success and challenges or concerns. 7. Present positive attitude about job responsibilities. 8. Develop knowledge and skills in the following areas: • Principles and practices of developmental advising. • Skills in developing and conducting large and small group presentations and workshops on academically-related topics. • Skills in small group facilitation, assessment and referral, and one-on-one advising. • Project management skills related to a special project area.
