Public Info Request Coordinator
Purpose:
Under minimal direction, collaborates and serves as a strategic partner cross-departmentally on Public Information Request submission responses and administration.
Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws.
Knowledge of public information requests including request language, terms, conditions, etc.
Knowledge of City practices, policies, and procedures.
Skill in oral and written communications.
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing and organizing.
Skill in using computers and related software applications.
Skill in data analysis and problem solving.
Skill in negotiation.
Skill in leading teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of experience in a related field. Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.

Position Overview:
Austin Water’s Director’s Office is seeking a Public Information Request Coordinator to assist with the management of Austin Water’s public information request program. Austin Water is a complex department with over 1,400 employees staffed across multiple facilities throughout the City of Austin.
Critical employee:
This position has been designated as critical for the City of Austin. Critical positions are necessary and support activities that impact City or department operations. Work can be done at a designated work site or an alternate work location. Critical employees may be reassigned to another area to provide essential services during extraordinary situations or emergencies.
Pay Range:
$62,280.00 - $77,850.00 annual
Position(s) will be filled at the following location:
Waller Creek Center (625 E. 10th St., Austin, TX)
Days and Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, with the potential for a hybrid work schedule, pending approval from the manager. Other hours as business needs require.
