Job Duties
Ensures that all accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, their families and co-workers at hand offs and other times as needed. Takes all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information in order to allow for the best possible patient outcome. Assists in phone communication with other departments and providers.
Demonstrates working knowledge of EPIC Registration, PACS, and other computer software programs as assigned.
Demonstrates proper safety technique with imaging/positioning equipment.
Participates in department/hospital meetings, and activities per department guidelines.
Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
Assists the Technologist with ancillary tasks.
Maintains cleanliness of equipment and department.
Utilizes and follows proper Isolation Practices.
Registers patients for imaging procedures.
Contributes to the efficient operation of the department ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care.
Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel.
Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all hospital personnel.
Competent with Imaging registration, department information system and EPIC system.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Professional Experience
No previous experience required.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date.
