JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Lead Bartender
Department: Food & Beverage
Supervision Exercised: Bartenders, Barbacks
Supervision Received: Food & Beverage Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bartending certification preferred (where applicable).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant.
- Prior lead or supervisory bartending experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, train, and support bartending staff.
- Proficient in POS systems and cash-handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask and maintain bar organization during peak hours.
- Knowledge of alcohol laws, ID verification, and responsible beverage service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve beverages according to recipes, standards, and guest preferences.
- Lead bar operations during shifts; support bartenders and barbacks as needed.
- Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and proper stock levels throughout the shift.
- Assist with training new bartenders and barbacks on service standards and drink preparation.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, address concerns, and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and restocking procedures.
- Support bar opening and closing procedures and ensure accurate cash handling.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding bar needs, issues, or opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
