National Practice Group Leader (Veterinary-Focused)

The Practice Group Leader in this role is responsible for leading Pearl’s national veterinary focused business insurance program. This leader is responsible for growth, profitability, and client satisfaction across all business insurance solutions – including professional liability, general liability, BOPs, business auto, workers’ compensation, EPL, and cyber.   

This role directs new business and retention performance, manages key carrier relationships, and coordinates cross-functional collaboration with marketing, IT, and service teams. The Practice Group Leader serves as the primary advocate for members business insurance lines, ensuring best-in-class insurance experience and continuous innovation across product lines.   

This role has an anticipated start date of January 2026.

Your Impact: 

  • Develop and execute the business insurance plan for the Veterinary Focused practice group, including sales goals, retention initiatives, and growth strategies.  
  • Lead new business sales efforts and oversee retention strategies to ensure member satisfaction and long-term program success. 
  • Serve as Pearl’s key liaison for business insurance with leadership, providing regular reporting, strategic insights, and stewardship updates.   
  • Manage and strengthen carrier relationships across all Veterinary Focused product lines, ensuring competitive products, pricing, and coverage enhancements.  
  • Identify opportunities for new products, endorsements, or bundled solutions tailored to veterinary practices.  
  • Oversee ROI analysis, performance metrics, and KPI reporting for all business insurance initiatives.  
  • Direct and mentor the Veterinary Focused new business sales teams and retention staff.  
  • Provide guidance on sales strategies, competitive positioning, and large/complex account negotiations. 
  • Partner with customer service and call center leadership to deliver seamless member support. 
  • Work closely with marketing to develop targeted campaigns, digital strategies, and educational content for members. 
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance digital platforms and policyholder portals for ease of doing business. 
  • Coordinate with carrier underwriting and product teams on risk appetite, product updates, and program profitability.  
  • Represent Pearl and the Veterinary Focused program at industry events, veterinary conferences, and meetings.  
  • Provide thought leadership on insurance trends impacting veterinary practices, including risk management education for members.  
  • Supervisory Responsibilities - Direct management of new business and retention teams within Veterinary Focused practice group.  Cross-functional influence with IT, marketing, underwriting, and service center resources.  

Successful Candidates Will Have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance/ business management or related field
  • 10+ years of experience working in the insurance industry dealing with carriers on property and casualty, errors and omissions, specialty lines, etc.
  • 5+ years of insurance sales, Underwriting or insurance operations leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Strategic thinker and decision maker and strong knowledge of competitive market conditions. 
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to provide client-centric service. 
  • Property and Casualty insurance license required.
  • Excess and Surplus Lines, Life and Health, and Industry Professional designations are desired (i.e. – ARM, AIC, AU, CPCU, CLCS, RPLU). 
  • Valid driver’s license with a record of safe driving required.

In addition to the pay range below, this role is also eligible for commission.

Pay Range:

$51,800 - $74,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role.
