This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: North Shore Preserve set on the Island of Kauai in Hawaii.

North Shore Preserve is seeking a Golf Services/Valet Attendant to join the Golf Operations Department.

The Golf Services/Valet Attendant will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to our guests and maintaining the smooth operation of the golf facilities. The Golf Services/Valet Attendant will interact with golfers of all skill levels and provide assistance with various aspects of their experience, from equipment handling to preparing for their round of golf. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities
• Greet members upon arrival and departure on the range.
• Assist with service during their round and promptly respond to any player requests.
• Work in conjunction with valet team and assist as needed.
• Communicate with departments regarding members transitioning through property.
• Stock and restock golf carts with beverages, towels, and any other amenities as needed throughout the day.
• Ensure an adequate number of carts are staged and ready for use at all times.
• Maintain clean shuttles, club carts, and personal golf carts throughout the day.
• Clean all players clubs (to include members, guests, and prospects) before and after each round.
• Always count clubs prior to putting them in storage or sending back to the valet area.
• Complete daily set-up/breakdown of all range equipment, amenities, and activities.
• Closing duties to include but not limited to removing range furniture, washing golf balls, restocking buckets, cleaning of carts (prior to parking in cart barn), plug all carts into a charging station.
• Assist in the Golf Shop as a retail associate as requested.
• Accurate tracking of all daily golf activity.
• Assist with monthly inventory count.
• Opportunity to provide caddie services if qualified and requested by the Director of Golf.
• Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Valet

• Meet and greet all arriving/departing members and guests in a timely manner.
• Park and retrieve member, guest and customer vehicles or golf carts in specified areas in an efficient and safe manner.
• Will be responsible to drive, pick up, or drop off members and VIP guests around the local area, which includes the airport.
• Perform drive and park assignments per department policies/procedures.
• Keep parking areas clean and orderly.
• Provide member assistance and information, such as giving directions, handling baggage, assisting with wheelchairs loading and unloading, etc.
• Ensure that members' and guests' belongings are retrieved and delivered to the proper outlet.
• Maintain clean transportation shuttles and company vehicles (basic cleaning services including car wash, wiping interiors, and brief vacuuming to remove sand and dirt, but not full detailing services).
• Check the condition of the transport vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order.
• Provide deliveries/pickups as needed and run other errands as needed.
• Prepare and submit reports that include number of passenger trips, ridership, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Comply with local and public traffic laws, and highway safety rules and regulations in operating vehicles.
• Follow written and verbal geographical directions.
• Operate light and heavy passenger vans and buses for transport to airports, off-site housing, off-site entertainment/activities and more as needed.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hospitality or golf-related environment.
• Knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and terminology is preferred, but not required.

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
