A minimum of three years’ experience in community relations and/or marketing. Must be well organized and able to multi-task priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work as a team member with supervisors, volunteers, fellow coworkers and the community. Must be willing to act as a liaison to any referral source who has a referral of which our services are needed. Willing to work unusual hours and weekends. Must have reliable transportation. Must be Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) for the Orange and Osceola market.
EDUCATION: High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:
• Must have a desire to work with volunteers, coworkers and the community.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize according to deadline.
• Must have demonstrated computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to form effective working relationships with community partners and referral sources.
• Must have valid Florida driver’s license.
• Must have a strong knowledge of Hospice service Philosophy. Must have the ability to share the components of the program relevant to an audience including the most efficient way to access our services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Handles the daily operations for community relations; including attending meetings at civic clubs, chamber of commerce and other nonprofit organizations. Attend health fairs, networking events and provide community education.
• Must be willing to advocate for volunteer department growth, this includes actively recruiting and promoting the need for volunteers, while supporting volunteers.
• Responsible for identifying community events for Halifax Health – Hospice to attend and/or sponsor based on our Market Overview.
• Responsible for maintaining a Halifax Health – Hospice community outreach calendar.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with other staff as appropriate in marketing of the Halifax Health - Hospice brand.
• Provides general administrative departmental duties, this includes ordering supplies, tracking purchase orders and check requests.
• Performs general duties associated with community education, volunteer growth and fund development department.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
