Europcar Australia is seeking a proactive Fleet Finance Senior Accountant to join our Fleet Finance team at our Head Office in Tullamarine, Victoria on a full time basis.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive financial management of the company's vehicle fleet for both Australia and New Zealand entities.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage a team of three finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.

• Manage, operate, and continuously enhance fleet financial accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and control systems.

• Prepare and deliver accurate, timely monthly and annual financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for fleet-related accounts.

• Lead the development and management of monthly and annual budgets and forecasts for fleet finance, covering both P&L and Balance Sheet accounts.

• Ensure full compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including coordination of internal and external audits.

• Oversee the accounting treatment of vehicle asset impairment and revaluation.

• Coordinate monthly group reporting and disclosures for actuals, forecasts, and budgets.

• Maintain and update the fleet tax register on a monthly basis.

• Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and policies for all fleet-related financial activities.

To be considered for this position you should possess: 

• Relevant tertiary qualification or minimum five (5) years of accounting experience

• Experience in fleet accounting principals

• Experience working with a finance management system or similar 

• CA/CPA qualification 

• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

• Knowledge of Sun Systems or Oracle accounting package would be advantageous 

• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

• Effective communication skills, both written (general correspondence and report writing) and oral

• Exceptional attention to detail and accurate data entry skills 

• Able to meet deadlines and manage your own workload
