We’re looking for a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance and daily operations of our commercial office building. This role includes supervising a team, handling repairs, running preventive maintenance, and keeping tenants happy. You’ll manage HVAC systems, life/safety equipment, small capital projects, and help control energy use and maintenance budgets.

  • Lead and train the building’s engineering team

  • Oversee HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repairs

  • Manage preventive maintenance and safety systems

  • Help plan and track budgets and capital projects

  • Keep systems up to code and running smoothly

  • Make sure tenant requests are handled fast and well

What you should bring

  • 5-7+ years in building maintenance (especially commercial buildings)

  • 2-3+ years in a leadership role

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Universal refrigerant certification

  • Experience with HVAC, mechanical systems, and electrical codes

  • Able to read blueprints and use basic tools and meters

  • Basic budgeting and computer skills (Microsoft Office, maintenance software)

  • Great customer service and communication skills

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various building areas

What you will be part of

The property management team manages the entire life cycle of building operations, including due diligence support during acquisition, execution of strategic capital plan, tenant relations functions, lease administration, staffing, financial reporting and upon successful execution of business plan, disposition of the asset. The Team is also responsible for all aspects of commercial real estate operations, to include: staff management, reporting, budgeting, construction, contract service administration, tenant and local community relations, lease administration, emergency preparedness, collections of rent and tenant service billings The Team partners with other verticals such as asset managers, brokers (leasing team), accountants, design consultants and contractors working on capital improvement projects that include amenity lounge, café, conference center, lobby, fitness center, tenant improvements, elevator modernization, roof and mechanical equipment replacement.

Retirement

Time Away From Work

Parental Leave

  • Following six (6) months of employment, eligible employees may receive:

    • Four (4) weeks of paid parental leave as a primary caregiver, or

    • Two (2) weeks of paid parental leave as a secondary caregiver

  • Following two (2) years of employment, eligible primary caregivers may receive up to twelve (12) weeks of paid parental leave per birth, adoption, or placement

Learning & Development

  • Tuition Reimbursement of up to $5,000 per year for pre‑approved education expenses

    • Repayment obligations may apply if employment ends prior to 24 months
