Your Role 

The Service Tech is responsible for providing technical trouble shooting support for designated client business, as well as providing delivery of chemicals.

Responsibilities 

  • Maintenance personnel are required to perform all functions of plant maintenance. They are primarily responsible for the production equipment and preventive maintenance. Maintenance personnel maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the processes related to the mechanical function of equipment.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Performs a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and to troubleshoot, repair and replace parts in equipment.
  • Technicians will also perform tests, inspections and preventive maintenance of facility equipment such as pumps and piping with minimal supervision.
  • Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustment(s) to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform all levels of welding and mechanical repairs to industrial machinery present in material recovery facilities (MRF).
  • Repair and possible fabrication of conveyors and component parts.
  • Proper use of all welding and cutting equipment related to all phases of metal fabrication and repair.
  • Repair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
  • Complete all paperwork and/or electronic updates as required.
  • Regular use of heavy industrial shop tools and equipment such as power tools, welder, general hand tools
  • Work with outside contractors that supplement our internal maintenance plan.
  • Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Your Profile 

Education & Experience 

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas).
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds and frequently lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Use of supplied or filtered air (respirator) for an extended period of time is required.
  • Must be able to work in confined, tight spaces.
  • Must possess good working knowledge with all levels of welding and cutting equipment required to perform industrial maintenance welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays. Overtime can be expected thru the week, weekend OT approximately once every 2 months.
  • Ability to obtain certificate to operate fork lift trucks.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
  • Familiarity with using a computer.
