POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Radiology Manager and the supervision of the Lead IR Technologist, performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. The Interventional Technologist (IR Tech) will be a Diagnostic Technologist which is cross trained in Interventional Radiology. Assumes responsibility for designated areas as assigned. The Technologist operates X-ray equipment, prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies, and contrast media. The Tech will be responsible for charging supplies and Current Procedural Terminology codes. The Interventional Technologist supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Radiology Department.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Desired:
Two years' experience in diagnostic x-ray
Previous interventional experience
One year experience as a licensed Radiologic Technologist in an acute healthcare facility.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services,
State of California (CRT)
Current CPR certification
ARRT and Fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within 6 months of hire
Desired:
ARRT Advanced Level Interventional Certification (Cardiovascular Interventional Technology)
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of human structure and function, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic exposure, quality assurance, radiation physics, radiation protection, radiobiology, and specialized techniques as required for a radiologic technologist. Must be self-motivated. Excellent communication skills and problem solving techniques are required. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
