Job Description

The Systems Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the administration, performance, integrity, and security of our organization’s databases and related systems, with a strong emphasis on Windows environments and server technologies. The DBA performs well in a high stress team environment with clinical and non-clinical team members and provides data mining support for Information Systems department and beyond. The DBA collaborates with cross-functional teams, and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the resilience, scalability, and efficiency of our core systems.

Education

College degree in Information Systems or related field is required. 4 years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for a college degree.

Experience

Server Database Administration experience is required.

At least two years of experience managing multiple databases for large systems is required.

Hands-on experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide high availability is required.

Expertise in Windows Server administration is required.

Experience participating in or leading IT projects related to database or server upgrades and migrations is required.

Experience with database backup, recovery, restoration, and high availability solutions is required.

Qualifications

Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects.

Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, T-SQL, etc.) for automation and maintenance tasks.

Solid grasp of Active Directory and domain management within Windows environments.

Deep understanding of database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or other enterprise DBMS.
