The hiring range for this position is: $104,780.00-$130,976.00/annually

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
We are seeking a skilled Senior Business Solutions Architect with expertise in Python, .NET, C#, SQL, and ideally, public safety experience. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement innovative technical solutions to meet complex business needs, collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable outcomes.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of solutions using Python, .NET, C#, SQL, and related tools
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define specifications, and deliver tailored solutions.
Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and product roadmaps.
Evaluate and communicate the impact of technology updates and new releases.
Develop custom web applications, workflows, and integrations with enterprise systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring solutions align with industry best practices.
Rotating On Call supporting Public Safety Applications, approximately 1 week a month.
Provide mentorship to developers and training to end-users for effective solution adoption.
Identify opportunities to enhance productivity and streamline processes through technology.
Stay current with emerging trends and recommend improvements to existing systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems or related field
Experience:
5 years of business information systems analysis experience
Experience with data and system analysis, including troubleshooting and problem solving
Experience with in-house developed, on-prem, and SAAS application support
Experience with business process and workflow analysis and customer engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with workflow applications, such as Accela, Seamless Docs, or similar solutions.
Experience with JavaScript
Knowledge:
Proficiency with workflow configurations and methods
Familiarity change management process
Proficiency User Interface and User Experience support
Proficiency with Web services, APIs, XML, XSLT, ETL, etc
Familiarity with relational/non-relational databases
Familiarity with Information Security practices
Familiarity with networking and systems disciplines
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and oral and written communication skills
Strong assessment and problem-solving skills
Advance skill in the use of personal computers, including spreadsheets, database management and word processing
Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers, and other City departments.
Ability to effectively communicate with end users, peers, and management how the software application can assist in supporting their needs.
Ability to handle situations with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and fulfill goals and objectives.
Ability to proactively research, analyze, present recommendations and when appropriate, implement computer system changes and upgrades that may be initiated by a variety of sources including staff, management and vendors.
Able to navigate IT Support Desk ticket system.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Essential Personnel:
When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
Physical Demands:
Light physical work that involves moving no more than 20 pounds at a time
Frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing
Frequent hand/eye coordination for operation of office equipment
Vision for reading and interpreting reports and data analysis and preparation
Frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communication with employees and citizens
Work Environment:
Essential duties performed primarily in an indoor office, public area setting
Equipment Used:
Frequently uses standard office equipment including computer, calculator, multi-line telephones, and copy/fax machines
