- Manage all aspects of the HSE and any other assigned departments

- Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for hosts and guests.
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all HSE protocol and procedures
Departmental Duties:
- Develop, implement and monitor the park HSE management system at assigned primary and ancillary parks.
- Develop and update park HSE procedures and instructions to prevent injury to hosts and guests to prevent environmental or property damage at primary and assigned ancillary parks.
- Incorporate Herschend Enterprises HSE standards and local legal HSE requirements into park procedures and training at primary and assigned ancillary parks.
- Support Park management team in the deployment and delivery of Herschend Enterprises HSE standards and procedures at primary and assigned ancillary parks.
- Provide expertise to park management team on HSE topics, including but not limited to local HSE legislation, risk assessment, and preventive and protective measures, emergency management, incident reporting, PPE, safety coordination of suppliers and contractors, audits and inspections, waste management, identification and evaluation and monitoring of environmental impacts.
- Collaborate as subject matter expert in the development of Herschend Enterprises standards.
- Encourage and promote commitment by the park management, staff, suppliers, and contractors to Herschend Enterprises HSE values and requirements.
- Conduct ongoing proactive risk assessments, together with park management team and other relevant stakeholders, to identify and minimize potential risks in all aspects of park operations.
- Act as liaison with the Health, Safety and Environment representatives of contractors and suppliers to ensure alignment and compliance with Herschend Enterprises expectations.
- Perform self-audits and inspections at primary and assigned ancillary parks to verify compliance with HSE standards, procedures and applicable local HSE regulations. Carry out the controls and checks needed to ensure that products and services provided by the park(s) meet the applicable HSE standards and regulations. Reports findings and recommendations to park management and/or the Corporate Safety Leader.
- Perform HSE cross-audits in other parks of the group, acting as lead auditor or support auditor, as per Herschend Enterprises HSE Audit Program as assigned.
- Ensure that equipment, including maintenance equipment, amusement devices, attractions, and rides meet applicable industry standards, as defined by local regulations, applicable ASTM, Herschend Enterprises standards at primary and assigned ancillary parks.
- Design, implement, and execute HSE related training programs for hosts as needed.
- Develop and implement emergency response procedures, including planning and coordination of drills/exercises and training, as applicable at assigned and assigned ancillary parks.
- Investigate HSE related incidents to determine causes, prepare incident reports, perform trend analysis, and recommend remedial and preventive actions.
- Provide guidance and support to assist HSE team members at assigned ancillary parks to ensure timely and accurate incident investigation, reporting and analysis.
- Monitor and confirm completion of follow-up actions for HSE related findings arising from audits, inspections, incident investigations and regulatory or Herschend Enterprises requirements.
- Prepare periodical HSE performance reports and provide park management with results.
- Identify weaknesses and deficiencies in the park HSE management system and recommend corrective actions to park management.
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of Herschend Enterprises Sustainability Reports for assigned and ancillary parks.
- Perform routine safety audits and risk assessments of dive zones and infrastructure, including platforms, ladders, seals of life-support gear.
- Provide initial and ongoing training for the staff (aquarists, animal trainer) on safety, rescue, and sea-life interaction protocols.
- All other duties assigned by leadership.
Other Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Certified as a Dive Instructor (e.g., PADI, NAUI, SSI) or equivalent professional-level diving certification
- Experience conducting underwater maintenance, animal care dives, or exhibit diving in aquarium or marine park settings
- Strong understanding of occupational diving regulations (e.g., OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart T, AAUS standards)
- Knowledge of compressed gas systems, dive equipment maintenance, and repair
- Experience with emergency response and rescue procedures, including first aid, CPR, and oxygen administration
- Strong risk assessment and incident investigation skills
- Ability to develop and deliver dive safety training programs
- Proficiency with dive logging and recordkeeping systems (digital or manual)
- Effective communication and leadership skills for supervising dive teams
- Knowledge of marine animal behavior and underwater environmental conditions
- Familiarity with scientific diving protocols and data collection methods

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree of Health & Safety, Emergency Management, Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline is highly desired; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
- 3-5 years of previous safety or environmental experience highly desired
- 3+ years of previous supervisory experience, preferably in a health and safety setting
- Previous experience with health & safety-related investigations is preferred
- Previous hospitality, animal park, theme park, or waterpark experience preferred
- EMT Certification in the state of Hawaii preferred but not required
- NREMT (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English and other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to regularly work hours that extend beyond 9am to 5pm
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment
- Must possess strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and Life Safety Codes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive park and guest information
- Ability to understand and apply knowledge of HSE policies and procedures, interviewing, listening, and note-taking techniques for specific situations
- Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs
- Ability to professionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situations
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to collaborate with other team members, external first responders, and emergency personnel during emergency situations
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Working Conditions:
- This role will be based in both an office setting as well as frequent exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environments
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions
