The Human Resources Supervisor will oversee all aspects of recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and internal communications. This person will also participate in other administrative duties as assigned by Human Resources leadership.

Lake Compounce - Seasonal Human Resources Supervisor

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

    This is a seasonal role; employment will end on or shortly after 12/31/2026, with opportunity to return in early 2027.

    The Human Resources Supervisor will oversee all aspects of recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and internal communications. This person will also participate in payroll, benefits, and other administrative duties as assigned by Human Resources leadership.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Supervisory Duties:

    • Assist with the daily supervision of the Human Resources team and any other assigned departments

    • Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Lake Compounce’s core values

    • Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts

    • Professionally and legally represent Lake Compounce to ensure continued compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws

    • Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all Human Resources positions and backfill these positions when needed

    • Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline of Human Resources hosts

    • Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Connecticut law

    • Create and execute schedules for Human Resources hosts to ensure that the HR office is properly staffed throughout each day

    Departmental Duties:

    • Oversee the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process for all seasonal and full-time hosts

    • Lead scheduling efforts with the Specialist team and ensure park schedules are created and staffed

    • Participate in local and regional job fairs at high schools, colleges, and professional institutions

    • Review and screen applications, conduct candidate interviews and extend offers of employment

    • Schedule team member orientations and ensure all team members complete the required onboarding activities

    • Gather all necessary documents from team members to properly complete I-9 requirements in a timely manner

    • Manage the timely completion of HR paperwork, employee transactions, compensation adjustments, and terminations

    • Assist employees with Workday navigation and password resets

    • Perform copying, filing and various other administrative duties

    • Report any feedback from seasonal or full-time employees to improve processes, job satisfaction and/or guest satisfaction efforts to HR leadership

    • Lead and complete special projects to improve processes related to HR

    • Identify opportunities for program improvement and assist with developing and implementing enhancements to HR processes

    • All other duties assigned by leadership

    Education & Experience:

    • College degree in HR, Business Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

    • 1+ years of previous work experience in an HR role preferred.

    • Prior experience in Recruitment, HR Management, Leadership and Training & Development are preferred, but not required.

    Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

    Requirements: 

    • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws

    • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close

    • Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift

    • Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner

    • Ability to portray a positive, professional attitude

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive employee data

    • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a wide range of diverse personnel and guests

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point

    • Knowledge of Google Sheets or Smart Sheet, a plus

    • Ability to use office technology and equipment, such as PC, software, and copier

    • Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, while using a computer

    • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time throughout the workday

    • Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders

    • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 20 pounds or more

    Working Conditions:

    • This role will be primarily based in an office setting with some interaction with other outdoor park locations

    • Some exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

    • Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments
