Anticipated Hiring salary: $164,000.00 - $205,000.00/year
Full Salary Range:$164,000.00 - $256,250.00/year
Salary to be commensurate with experience.

Position: Deputy Chief Information Officer
OVERVIEW OF POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this role oversees the division managers responsible for Planning and Governance, Technical Infrastructure, and Platforms and Analytics—ensuring each division delivers reliable, secure, and customer-focused technology services. The Deputy CIO will lead day-to-day IT operations, drive continuous improvement in service delivery, and help shape the organization’s next phase of transformation, including process refinement, workforce development, and organizational design.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily IT operations and project execution across all technology divisions.
Monitor and report on incidents and service requests to ensure timely resolution and transparency.
Identify recurring problems, coordinate root-cause analysis, and collaborate with teams to develop solutions and implementation timelines.
Partner with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to incorporate security best practices and address security concerns within all operations.
Partner with the CIO to plan for and execute against the City’s strategic plan.
Ensure IT issues are addressed within established Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Coordinate development of operational reports and metrics to measure success and identify improvement areas; recommend changes to SLOs and performance metrics as needed.
Coordinate the internal Change Management, communication, and training activities.
Governance, Standards, and Planning
Oversee development and implementation of internal IT policies and standards of practice.
Ensure each division aligns quarterly plans and initiatives with the City’s strategic priorities.
Coordinate resource tracking and forecasting across divisions to ensure capacity aligns with prioritized demands.
Collaborate with division managers to identify and plan for upcoming budgetary needs.
Represent the IT Department on City and partner committees as designated by the CIO.
People and Culture
Lead, coach, and develop the managers of Planning and Governance, Technical Infrastructure, and Platforms and Analytics.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented culture within IT.
Recommend and coordinate ongoing training and professional development for staff.
Support consistent, transparent employee evaluations that align with departmental goals and performance standards.
Partners with the internal IT Management team to oversee recruitment and retention activities.
