Job Description

The Operations Support Analyst is a key member of the Data Center Operations Team that provides end to end support for a combined production and development environments on a 24x7 basis. Coordinates all aspects of the shift duties including monitoring, maintaining and supporting a variety of hardware systems, batch processes, applications, network devices, and databases. Logs and properly documents and prioritizes all calls in ServiceNow. Maintains a working knowledge of all Data Center Operations team related policies, procedures, applications, current hardware, and basic network configurations through on-going training and self-initiated research and study. Demonstrates a consistent sense of urgency on high priority open issues to ensure a timely resolution. Ensures timely follow-up on all assigned open ServiceNow tickets. Works and trains team members as required. Participates in after hours and weekend support as required for special projects.

Education

Associate's degree in computer science or related field preferred.

Experience

One to three years of experience working in high pressure, dynamic, 24x7 environments preferred.

Understanding of IS and proven experience administrating and supporting it in an enterprise environment.

Experience using Enterprise monitoring tools such as Netmon and/or other tools provided.

Significant work experience in a production, mission-critical, revenue-dependent, 24x7 infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

Ability to assist Networking team with troubleshooting IP and telephone networks.

Ability to install and/or remove rack-mounted equipment, associated cabling, and other supported devices within the Data Center and other related areas, or mastery of the competencies within twelve months of hire.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to effectively communicate technical issues in a non-technical manner.

Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge correctly and consistently.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities required.

Must work well in a team or as an individual.

Must have flexibility and willingness to support a 24x7 operations environment by working nights and weekends.

Ability to troubleshoot computer system problems and provide solutions using product knowledge, system utilities and other available resources with minimal supervision.

Ability to follow established policies, procedures, operating instructions and processes to provide the highest quality customer support to VH customers via telephone and in-person.

Ability to multi-task in a stressful and fast paced environment.

Ability to handle difficult customers in a positive, courteous and confident manner.

Ability to communicate technical solutions to a non-technical VH customer.

Ability to work and train team members as required.

Proven ability to troubleshoot large, complex systems preferred.
