CALISTA CORPORATION'S SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Calista Corporation’s Summer Internship Program is a 10-week summer program to prepare Calista Shareholders & Descendants to step into the work environment through building communication strategies, problem-solving, teamwork skills, and more. We strive to help the interns plan their professional future by exploring career options in the Calista Corporation family of businesses and corporate departments.

The intern program has grown from a few positions a year to over 30 positions offered this year. We employ interns at Calista's subsidiary companies locally and across the country. Students are placed based on their majors to gain experience in one or more of the following industries:

  • Business Administration (Human Resources & Non-Profits)

  • Communications

  • Construction/Project Management

  • Education

  • Finance/Accounting

  • Geology & Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

  • Governmental Affairs/Political Science

  • Information Technology (IT)

  • Lands & Natural Resources

  • Legal

  • Oil & Gas

  • Professional Development

  • Shareholder Services

  • Yup’ik Translator/Transcriber

  • Engineering

CRITERIA TO APPLY

  • Must be 18 years and older (by May 21st, 2026)

  • Shareholder/Descendent status of Calista

  • Completed at least one semester of college or technical/vocational training school (current or high school seniors who have received an acceptance letter)

  • 2.0+ GPA

  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen

INTERNSHIP WILL INCLUDE

  • Learning Calista’s Vision, Mission, Strategic Goals, and Core Values

  • Connecting studies to a possible career path within the Calista Family of Companies

  • Participate in challenging and meaningful work experiences

  • Develop professional skills in the workplace

  • Weekly event gatherings to learn about ANCSA, networking with Calista’s Corporate executive leadership team, and Yup’ik culture stories & activities.

2026 TIMELINE

  • December 1 , 2025 – March 15, 2026: Application period

  • January, Week 2 & 3: 1st round of interviews and manager selections

  • February, Week 2 & 3: 2nd round of interviews and manager selections

  • March, Week 2 & 3: Last round of interviews and manager selections

  • May 21-22: Orientation

  • May 23: Interns begin travel to their work location.

  • May 26: First day at workstation

  • July 30: Out-of-state Interns return to Alaska

  • July 31: Intern Picnic & Last Day

FOR TRAVELING INTERNS

Out-of-state Interns will work for Calista’s Government Contracting Holding Line, Yulista Holding, LLC, and its subsidiaries. The Yulista team is seeking Project Management, IT, Engineering, Quality Control, and Executive Administration interns. These positions require a high interest in learning, networking, and seriously considering a future in Government Contracting and Technology. Airfare (Roundtrip from Anchorage), Dormitory, and Transportation expenses are covered by the Company. Interns must have a Driver’s License. Interns must be independent, drug & alcohol-free, and able to live away from home for 10 weeks in hot climatic weather.
