Under limited direction, the Director of Capital Projects & Operations Advancement has overall responsibility for the effective operation of all campus facilities and management of capital projects for repair and upgrade of campus facilities and infrastructure. This position serves as a member of the IT and Operations management team and is involved in the development and implementation strategic plans for the campus. This position has responsibility for projects with multiple interdependencies and high complexity, scope, risk, and impact to the campus. The position requires a progressive, innovative individual with excellent planning, organizational, management, technical, and interpersonal skills. The position serves as a liaison in support of CCC’s government partnerships.Duties & Responsibilities
Capital Projects
Oversee all aspects campus project portfolios throughout project lifecycles to ensure completion within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints.
Manage multiple projects across the college that include both internal and external dependencies.
Many projects are multi-faceted high complexity requiring constant monitoring and continuously evolving mitigation plans.
State Documentation & Reporting
Develop and maintain all documentation and reporting required by the New Mexico Higher Education Department Capital Projects Division for funded projects, including project submittals, notices of obligation, and project status reports.
Campus Operations
Coordinate all activities of the Physical Plant, Maintenance, Custodial and Groundskeeping through direct supervision of the Manager of Facilities to ensure the campus functions effectively and safely.
Ensure that daily operational needs of the campus are met and all areas of campus are maintained in a clean and safe fashion.
Campus Utilities & Infrastructure
Maintain operation of all utilities and infrastructure on campus to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere conducive to the goal of providing students with an effective learning environment.
Project Conception & Design
Plan and manage all aspects of capital project design, development and implementation including preliminary technical research and feasibility analysis, cost estimation, scheduling work plan development.
Collaborate on the design of classrooms, laboratories, and other campus infrastructure with all levels of the organization including executive leadership, steering committees and project teams.
Project Management
Review engineering and financial performance reports and maintain detailed records.
Oversee inspections and verification of all work during construction phases.
Maintain all project files including drawings, proposals, contracts, work-in-progress reviews, inspections, and communications.
Staff Development
Provide leadership for the development of staff and team goals that support institutional goals and raise client satisfaction levels.
Government Partnerships
Serves as a liaison to CCC’s designated government relations point person. Works to foster collaboration and support the college’s programs and capital priorities.
Coordinates with government officials to navigate approval processes, secure funding allocations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs.
SCHEDULE DETAILS:
Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Engineering or related field is required.
Ability to effectively position an organization to embrace new directions quickly, while maintaining and supporting a stable, dependable, and secure operation.
Ability to manage multiple projects; and plan, organize, assign and control resources for projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Senior management experience with an administrative or instructional data processing unit of a college or university is preferred. Experience should emphasize staff supervisory skills and managing and integrating projects across disciplines.
