GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Provider Relations & Transitions Liaison will report directly to the Director of Physician Relations & Recruitment and work directly with other leadership within Children’s Physician Services of South Texas (CPSST) as assigned. This role will be the liaison for the integration of providers and practice
changes within the organization.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Provider Relations & Transitions Liaison is responsible for overseeing the integration of new providers, practice locations, expansion of service lines, and provider offboarding. This role focuses on streamlining the integration process to ensure strong communication and enhance provider
satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining standardized transition processes across all markets for providers affiliated with Driscoll Health System. The Provider Relations & Transitions Liaison will coordinate efforts across multiple departments, including CPSST, Human Resources,
Credentialing, Provider Enrollment, IT (infrastructure, hardware, and software), revenue cycle management, compliance, and quality management.
 

This position will actively monitor and facilitate provider onboarding processes proactively identifying and resolving obstacles that may arise. Serving as an engaged and helpful resource, the Provider Relations & Transitions Liaison will provide direct support to providers prior to their start date at Driscoll, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
 

As a subject matter expert, this role fosters strong communication and working relationships between administrative teams, department leadership, and newly hired providers. The Provider Relations & Transitions Liaison will also provide oversight throughout the transition process, ensuring that equipment, technology, real estate, and other operational elements align with Driscoll Health System’s standards. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing offboarding, practice relocations, and expansions.

The position requires strong communication, organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills, along with a professional demeanor that is highly customer-focused due to direct daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Oversee the provider onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition into the practice.
  • Facilitate training and orientation for new physicians.
  • Ensure new physician hires have access to necessary resources and support.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to streamline the integration process.
  • Address and resolve any obstacles that arise during provider onboarding.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the provider during their transition.
  • Monitor and improve the effectiveness of the onboarding experience.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment to enhance physician engagement and retention.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for administrative support, including monitoring payer enrollment, licensure status, and credentialing.
  • Create training materials and standardized templates to ensure prompt and efficient onboarding for administrative staff.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for practice/region transitions, coordinating necessary steps and communications through weekly onboarding meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to the Department Director on transitions and any potential issues.
  • Offer physicians and practices a comprehensive overview of the transition process, including steps, timelines, required documents, signatures, and tasks.
  • Ensure all credentialing paperwork is submitted promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain and track transition progress, ensuring timely completion of tasks and clear communication with operational and financial departments.
  • Lead marketing efforts for new physicians, including business cards, headshots, bio cards, outreach materials, welcome announcements, brochures, market advertisements, referral list inclusion, Press Ganey enrollment, and directory management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the efficiency of the transition process.
  • Identify and resolve communication or process issues that impact provider transitions and departmental requirements.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree. All disciplines considered.
  • Relevant skills and experience will be strongly valued.
  • A minimum of three years of Practice Management experience preferred.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in onboarding, training, or human resource in healthcare.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance is a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed
