The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job)

Schedules cases accurately and efficiently in conformance with applicable guidelines to facilitate quality patient care. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative activities to support department operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:1 year office experience

Knowledge and Skills: Computer literate, fluent in English, types 30 wpm

Usual Work Day:8 Hours  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Answers scheduling calls quickly minimizing time customers are on hold. Verifies schedule prior to finalizing with nurse manager or department of anesthesia.
  • Verifies privilege status of physicians and ensures compliance in scheduling cases. Collaborates with physician's office to schedule cases, negotiating date and time, and avoiding resource conflicts.
  • Gathers complete patient and procedure information and enters data accurately into database.
  • Coordinates special procedure needs with appropriate Organization departments and staff, as well as external resources.
  • Prepares and distributes schedules in accordance with established time frames.
  • Maintains admission report and other department files consistent with department guidelines.
