Job Description Summary: 

The New Directions Asst Clinical Director is responsible for planning, implementing, operating, and evaluating all New Directions services consistent with the policies of the Board of Directors as interpreted by the Director. They provide services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They demonstrate a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery.  They will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received.

Education:

• Master’s degree in psychology or social work field with ability for state licensure.

• Or, met the criteria for Certification as a Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CRAADC

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior supervisory experience with SUD treatment teams, management and leadership training, and obtained the Clinical Supervisor Training certification through the Missouri Credentialing Board.

Responsibilities:

• Provides staff supervision in the care and treatment of clients and families.  Personnel management through administrative & clinical staff meetings, consultations with program supervisors, in-service programs, and consultation with the Clinical Director.
• They ensure the continued use of detailed operational procedures governing the New Directions program components as prescribed by SUD certification standards and internal policy.
• They prepare or supervise the preparation of all treatment planning regarding services.
• Schedules networking activities to assure the general public’s awareness of Intervention.  They will be involved in provision and delegation of awareness/prevention, education and orientation to specific services as required by the community.
• They negotiate: a) job tasks; b) training objectives; and c) service objectives with each staff person.
• They report to the Clinical Director on trends in their field, on significant accomplishments, and on problems with personnel, patients, facilities and/or other resources.
• They will assume responsibility for all New Directions services, except SATOP.  Delegations of duty/authority to patient care and environment will involve the Asst Clinical Director and Clinical Staff.
• Responsibility for treatment planning, therapeutic activity clinical services will pass to the counseling staff.  Progress reports and need identification will be expected in ongoing staffing/administrative meetings.

Physical Requirements:

• Normal office environment. 
• Typical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting. 
• Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed. 
• Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours and deal with irate individuals.
