Position Summary
The Business Process Analyst, operating under supervision, offers technical and functional support to diverse CNM departments utilizing a range of computer applications and systems. This role entails active involvement in running operations necessitates comprehensive documentation of processes and procedures and is required to document processes and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in the development or modification of procedures to address complex business problems, considering computer equipment capacity, operation time, and desired results.
- Develops and maintains written documentation of applications, including best practices, processes, and procedures.
- Creates user-friendly procedures, training materials, guidelines, and documentation.
- Contributes to the development and upkeep of business process documentation.
- Executes mission-critical processes that significantly impact the college.
- Participates in planning discussions to provide technical and practical business perspectives, attending collaborative team meetings.
- Identifies, compiles, and delivers required metrics by proactively managing multiple data sources, and seeking process improvements with stakeholders.
- Offers direct support to end-users for troubleshooting product issues and barriers.
- Generates, distributes, maintains, and processes reports that offer insights into operational statistics, performance, and trends.
- Participates in teams developing software applications and interfaces, researching and analyzing system problems.
- Utilizes industry-standard project management frameworks for work approaches.
- Tests systems, database functions, upgrades, patches, and new third-party software or hardware implementations to ensure proper functioning.
- Begins learning and developing reports and dashboards using SQL, SAS, or other reporting languages/tools.
- Monitors student databases for data accuracy, conformity, integrity, and interrelationships, providing recommendations on data integrity issues and managing data cleanup and records merging.
- Coordinates data entry standards, technical support, and training for Student Information System (SIS) end-users.
- May document, summarize, and distribute meeting notes.
- Manages permissions and develops user roles for employees during onboarding, along with data separation dashboards.
- Creates and distributes information using SQL, SAS, or other reporting languages/tools and related reports.
- Acts as a departmental contact for one or more community stakeholders/programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
AND
- Three (3) years of related experience.
Preferences:
- Experience working in higher education or public sector environments, with familiarity using enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated experience documenting business processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Experience using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, reporting tools, or similar) to evaluate processes and support decision-making.
- Experience developing reports, policies, or technical documentation with a high level of clarity and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project needs.
