Position Summary

Provides non-instructional technical support for instructional laboratories.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and issues instructional materials, supplies and equipment; and provides faculty with non-instructional assistance during the laboratory sessions.
  • Maintains organization and storage of all materials, supplies and equipment in stock room and laboratories.
  • Assists with chemical hygiene, waste disposal and laboratory safety programs; and assists faculty in maintaining student laboratory safety compliance.
  • Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
  • Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, completion of postsecondary coursework in chemistry or equivalent, and one (1) year of directly related experience in higher education or commercial laboratory.

Preferences:

  • 1 year of experience with Inventory Management and Systems Technology, and 1 year of experience managing budgets.
  • Completion of EMS Basic Training course

Ability to regularly work a standard business schedule, Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00pm. Position is full-time, in-person/non-remote, 40 hr./week.

The position is based at Montoya Campus and requires occasional travel to other CNM campuses including Main Campus, Rio Rancho Campus, and Westside Campus.
