Equipment Coordinator

Central Transport LLC is one of the nation’s most reliable and technologically advanced LTL (Less-than-Truckload) carriers to date. Central Transport is currently seeking an Equipment Coordinator within the construction department to assist with inventory, maintenance, compliance, and communication. The Equipment Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Construction and work at the corporate office in Warren, MI.

Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:30am-5:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management – Maintenance for accurate records of all equipment including location, condition, and usage.
  • Maintenance – Coordination of preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibration to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Logistics – Coordination of movement of equipment between locations, including transportation, delivery, and storage.
  • Procurement – Assist in purchase and acquisition of new equipment and the replacement parts as needed.
  • Safety – Maintaining safety compliance of all equipment to ensure they meet all federal, state, and local standards and regulations.

Daily Duties:

  • Creating and maintaining equipment records and databases.
  • Scheduling and overseeing maintenance and repair work.
  • Inspecting equipment for damage and ensuring it is in proper working order.
  • Managing equipment inventory and ensuring adequate supplies are available.
  • Coordinating transportation and logistics for equipment moves.
  • Communicating with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment purchases and repairs.
  • Training staff on the proper use and care of equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating repairs.
  • Developing and implementing procedures for equipment management. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for equipment management.
