Parsec, LLC. is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our operation based in Detroit, MI. This position includes planning and organizing all intermodal equipment maintenance and repair. We are seeking an aggressive, forward-thinking and highly motivated candidate to work in a fast paced environment.
Schedule:
Day shift: 6:00am to 4:00pm, Monday – Friday
Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Direct daily activities of maintenance personnel, assigning tasks and monitoring work performance.
- Ensure proper staffing levels to support safe and efficient maintenance coverage across all shifts.
- Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and enforce all company safety protocols.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to maintenance technicians.
Equipment Oversight:
- Supervise maintenance and repair of intermodal equipment including hostlers, cranes, chassis, lift equipment, and rail support tools.
- Coordinate timely repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize operational downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with FRA, OSHA, and DOT standards.
Administrative & Compliance:
- Assist in planning and scheduling preventive maintenance using CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; coordinate with vendors for timely parts procurement.
- Support documentation, work orders, and reporting for audits, inspections, and internal reviews.
Operational Support:
- Respond promptly to equipment failures or safety hazards affecting terminal operations.
- Collaborate with operations and terminal leadership to prioritize repairs and support service goals.
- Participate in facility inspections and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or certification in mechanics, industrial maintenance, or diesel technology preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, with 1+ year in a supervisory or lead role (intermodal or rail industry strongly preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with FRA, DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations applicable to terminal equipment.
- Experience using maintenance software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and respond to emergencies after hours as needed.
