Position Summary:


The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing all aspects of crib inventory to ensure tools, supplies, and materials are available and properly maintained to support production and maintenance operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and effective coordination with vendors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
    • Replenish stock, conduct cycle counts/audits, and ensure proper cataloging of all items.
    • Monitor usage trends and recommend changes to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
  • Procurement & Purchasing:
    • Utilize SAP to create purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and blanket purchase orders.
    • Set up new vendors and research previous orders as needed.
    • Coordinate the purchase of tools, parts, and supplies in alignment with budget and operational needs.
  • Software & Systems:
    • Use Fiix for inventory tracking and maintenance management.
    • Work within SAP for purchasing processes and vendor setup.
    • Use Microsoft Office applications—including Excel, Outlook, and Teams—for communication, reporting, and documentation.
  • Vendor Coordination:
    • Communicate with vendors to source parts, evaluate cost-saving opportunities, and arrange tool repairs.
    • Track repair status and ensure timely return of tools and equipment.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Maintain an organized and efficient tool crib environment.
    • Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory management, cost control, and workflow efficiency.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision, managing daily responsibilities and prioritizing tasks effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in inventory management, tool crib operations, or a similar role preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with Fiix, SAP, and Microsoft Office a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
