The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, reliability, and support of on-premise infrastructure and related enterprise systems. This includes management of virtualization (VMware), hyperconverged compute/storage (Nutanix), backup and recovery (Veeam, Zerto), Microsoft 365, and end-user computing platforms. The role requires hands-on technical oversight, coordination with support teams, and ownership of infrastructure availability, maintenance, and compliance. This role does not include responsibility for network infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations

  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of all server and storage infrastructure across datacenter environments.
  • Support VMware environments including host management, VM provisioning, snapshots, and resource allocation.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and performance tuning on Nutanix hyperconverged platforms.
  • Oversee scheduled backups and restorations using Veeam, ensuring data protection policies are followed.

Disaster Recovery & Replication

  • Administer Zerto replication between datacenters and ensure replication health is monitored.
  • Coordinate and document periodic DR testing, assisting in RPO/RTO validation.

Platform & System Administration

  • Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, and related server roles and services.
  • Assist with Windows Server patching, updates, and role-specific configuration changes.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and access control.

Endpoint & End-User Support Oversight

  • Support imaging, patching, and lifecycle management for desktops and laptops.
  • Administer Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) to enforce configuration policies and deploy software.
  • Coordinate infrastructure support escalations and ensure timely resolution of end-user issues impacting systems availability.

Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Assign daily tasks to system administrators and support staff, ensuring ticket queues and project tasks are balanced.
  • Provide escalation support and technical guidance for troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues.
  • Work with vendors for hardware/software renewals, warranty claims, and system support requests.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain documentation for infrastructure systems including configurations, backups, DR procedures, and maintenance logs.
  • Ensure infrastructure systems comply with organizational standards, audit controls, and data protection policies.
  • Assist in internal and external audit requests related to systems and infrastructure controls.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure or systems administration.
  • Direct experience with:
    • VMware vSphere, vCenter
    • Nutanix HCI
    • Veeam Backup & Replication
    • Zerto disaster recovery
    • Microsoft 365 and Windows Server/AD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing datacenter operations or supporting highly available systems across multiple sites.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell and system automation tools.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), SCCM, and patch management frameworks.
