The Universal Heavy Truck South quality inspector reports directly to the Quality Supervisor/Manager. The Quality Inspector position is required to support all inspection activities associated with the assembly and painting of semi-truck axles. Quality Inspectors report to the Quality Supervisor and work directly with Line Leaders and Production Supervisors to resolve non-conformances discovered during the inspection processes.

Shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Pay Rate: $21.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Inspecting axles and axle components to verify the correct component installation.
• Validating critical characteristics utilizing gauges, fixtures and templates.
• Completing data entry associated with nonconforming product.
• Documenting completed inspections on applicable hard copy forms and electronic databases.
• Scanning, organizing and preparing quality documentation for retrieval and archive.
• Assisting with the development and inclusion of best practices associated with inspection activities.
• Adaptable and flexible when learning new inspection activities and working at various inspection stations as required.

Requirements

• General knowledge of mechanical and electrical components required for the assembly and painting of semi-truck axles and associated components.
• Capable of inspecting axles and axle components on a moving line.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and scanning of documentation to a network file.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs or more.
• Must be available to work overtime as required by the customer
