We are seeking an EDI and API Coordinator to manage and support electronic data interchange (EDI) and API-based integrations between internal systems, partners, and third-party providers.
This role serves as the central point of coordination between development, business teams, and external vendors, ensuring data flows, mappings, and configurations are correct, tested, and maintained.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically literate, and comfortable translating between business requirements and technical implementation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate EDI and API implementation projects between internal development teams, business stakeholders, and external trading partners.
- Manage setup and onboarding of new trading partners, including connection details, file formats, and mapping requirements.
- Monitor and support daily EDI and API transactions, identifying, tracking, and resolving failed transmissions or data discrepancies.
- Maintain documentation for partner configurations, mappings, and message workflows (e.g., 204, 210, 214, 990, etc.).
- Collaborate with developers to define and test API endpoints related to partner integrations.
- Validate mapping changes and test scenarios before promoting updates to production.
- Track issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication of progress.
- Communicate directly with partner contacts and internal teams regarding data specifications, testing schedules, and go-live coordination.
- Assist with transition and support of new EDI and API platforms (e.g., Cleo Integration Cloud).
- Provide feedback on process improvements and opportunities to streamline workflows.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in EDI coordination, integration support, or API data exchange roles.
- Working knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and common transaction sets (204, 210, 214, 990, etc.).
- Familiarity with REST and SOAP APIs, authentication (OAuth, API keys), and JSON/XML structures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple partner integrations simultaneously.
- Experience working with mapping tools, translation software, or middleware (Cleo, Boomi, MuleSoft, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret EDI or JSON message data for validation.
- Proficient with Excel, SQL basics, and error log review.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, able to bridge technical and business perspectives.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Cleo Integration Cloud or equivalent EDI platform.
- Background in transportation, logistics, or supply chain systems.
- Familiarity with Postman or similar tools for API testing.
- Understanding of database-driven systems and data validation workflows.
- Exposure to ticketing and workflow systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
