The Director, IT Business Management is a partner to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who combines strategic business management and hands-on product leadership to drive company growth.  Responsible for aligning IT financial performance, operational efficiency, and organizational priorities with product vision, roadmap, and delivery, ensuring both business viability and customer value.  The Director will help the CTO maintain focus on priorities, monitor execution discipline, and provide actionable insights that enable data-driven decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Roadmap & Delivery

  • Oversee IT Runaway teams and initiatives to ensure effective technology engagement and execution.
  • Drive product roadmap definition and prioritization in line with financial targets and strategic goals.
  • Maintain a unified view of IT’s portfolio of programs, projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Define, document, and validate functional and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Partner with delivery teams to shape solution designs and ensure alignment with business outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Facilitate regular program updates, tracking progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support governance forums including steering committees, QBRs, and executive/board-level reporting.

Financial Management & Planning

  • Lead IT budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to ensure fiscal discipline and strategic alignment.
  • Monitor IT expenditures against budget, proactively identifying variances and underlying cost drivers.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights through dashboards and reports that highlight financial health and investment performance.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to optimize vendor contracts, resource allocation, and cost efficiency.

Operations & Strategy Support

  • Manage CTO-level communications, including leadership updates, board materials, and cross-functional presentations.
  • Partner with IT leaders to monitor strategic priorities, drive accountability, and ensure timely execution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices across IT business operations.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CTO, providing guidance on organizational design, resource planning, and high-impact initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred. Technical background is a strong asset.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT business management, financial planning, and program leadership.
  • Deep expertise in IT financial management, strategic planning, and portfolio oversight.
  • Strong grasp of digital platforms, cloud infrastructure, and agile delivery models.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional IT initiatives and communicate insights with clarity and impact.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication skills, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to balance strategic priorities and operational execution.
  • Experience supporting C-level executives or operating in a Chief of Staff–like role is highly desirable.
