FLOORS TEAM MEMBER

Reports To: FLOORS Department Manager                          

Department: Floors                      

Job Status: Full Time Hourly 7:00am – 3:30pm                  

Mobility Profile: On Location

Position Summary: We are seeking a candidate with experience relevant to the duties and responsibilities outlined below. As a member of the Home Building Team, you will be responsible for performing manufacturing and production operations within the FLOORS DEPARTMENT, following established production methods and maintaining safe work practices to ensure efficiency and safety throughout the home building process.

Job Expectations:
This role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring attention to detail and adaptability. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong ability to read a tape measure accurately and make precise cuts is required.

Work Environment and Requirements:

• Daily working conditions: include overhead work, working in tight spaces, keeping up with a good pace, repetitive work, working in loud and dusty environment, working in hot and humid areas, heavy lifting, using saws, drills and being on your hands and knees.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hats, steel-toe footwear, ear protection, and safety glasses must be always worn.

• The production facility experiences noise and dust. Temperature conditions can be warm and humid during summer months despite cooling systems; winter conditions are generally mild. Appropriate attire for varying temperatures is expected.

• The position can be physically and mentally demanding, with tasks involving repetitive motion, bending, twisting, overhead work and ladder climbing.

• Consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential.

• A positive attitude and cooperative spirit are necessary to contribute effectively as part of a team. Hungry, Humble, People Smart!

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES IN FLOORS:

Framing up floor & insulating it

Decking top of floor

Sanding floor decking in preparation of lino

Cutting and drilling holes for plumbing & HVAC

Clean the floor & spread lino glue around holes where needed

Cover floor up with plastic protection

Build up heat ducts

Wire under floor

Setting floor to frame

Practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe while observing all relevant OSHA regulations.  

Work in a team environment to produce products that conform to our quality standards while achieving our productivity objectives.

Serve as a good steward for our company’s physical assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting all needed maintenance, keeping assigned areas clean and orderly.  

Assist Team Leader and Area Coordinator to plan and organize the manufacturing activities in your area by communicating anticipated material shortages, identifying required tool maintenance, and communicating any quality and productivity issues.  

Perform other duties assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
• Fast paced, repetitive work, dusty, noisy, can get hot in summers, cool in winters
• Can be hard on your legs and feet
• Must be able to work nonstop with drills and pulling wires above head
• Must be able to communicate with team members from your department and other departments, as well as Department Managers and other Managers as needed.
• Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Versatility and willingness to transfer into various departments when necessary
• Clear and effective communication.
• Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings greatly desired
• Strong work ethic

PAY RANGE & BENEFITS:

Clayton Redwood Falls offers a competitive total compensation package. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401K, Long and Short-Term Disability, and Tuition Reimbursement. Compensation for this role is $25.00/hour. This position is an HOURLY position, and the pay range does not include variable bonuses.
