The Roadway Engineer in Training will work on a range of civil infrastructure projects, mainly large-scale Design&Build Projects across the United States for both the bidding and the construction phase. The candidate will be trained in a wide variety of civil-design-related tasks and work as a team member with other professional peers who will supervise his work and provide mentoring.
The candidate will have the opportunity to learn the company standards for roadway design and to develop expertise in the use of roadway design software and processes. Under the supervision and mentoring of Ferrovial Construction US’s Design Department, the EIT will have the technical support and the resources needed to advance in the professional career within a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities and Duties: List the essential duties required to carry out the job. This should be listed in order of importance and use complete sentences starting with verbs in the present tense
Perform highway designs and plan production of complex highways projects.
Supervise and check designs performed by consultants and subconsultants.
Develop in-house designs from alternate concepts to final design for construction.
Conduct studies on applicable specifications for the specified work.
Estimate quantities and perform quality checks on quantities by subconsultants.
Assists with field observation work when necessary.
Perform other duties as needed related to the scope of work described above.
Provide technical support to other team members deployed to ongoing projects across the United States.
Qualifications: Include the education level, experience, specific skills, personal characteristics, certifications, licenses, and physical abilities required for the job
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited US College or University.
0 to 4+ years of experience (entry-level or early career).
Experience with roadway design is a plus.
Experience with Bentley MicroStation software. Familiarity with Open Road Designer is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to relocate once project is awarded.
