What you get to do:
As the Manager, Merchandise, you’ll drive operational excellence within the Merchandise department as you enthusiastically model a positive attitude, high level of energy, and commitment to quality. You will ensure that the Merchandise department meets and exceeds both guest expectations and financial goals. You will:
Meet and exceed P&L objectives
Model and lead exceptional guest service
Ensure adherence to policies/procedures and recommend areas for improvement
Evaluate, train, reward and correct team members
Monitor labor management
Motivate team to achieve sales and revenue goals
Ensure compliance with security, integrity, and safety protocols
Discern customer refunds
Oversee asset protection, damage control, and pricing adherence
Monitor stock inventory, including damage and min/max
Elevate inventory issues to Supervisor
Ensure facilities meet and exceed presentation, cleanliness, and quality expectations
Troubleshoot and repair merchandise equipment
Write and distribute Ambassador performance tracking documentation
Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Will Contribute:
Leadership – engage, lead, mentor, coach and develop teams to maximize their contributions including assessing, hands on training, coaching and mentoring performance. Lead teams of responsibility creating a shared understanding of goals and expectations. Reward and recognize ambassadors. Ensure the highest levels of safety and sanitation at all times
Guest service – Develop and maintain the highest levels of guest service. Model and demonstrate service excellence with enthusiastic service and guide an empowered team to deliver prompt, courteous and informative gust interaction, always with a smile
Productivity – establish, implement and maintain company labor, expense and food cost initiatives. Add value through consistency in efficient operations, eliminating rework, making sound cost decisions, guiding smarter work habits and challenging the status quo. Master and lead doing different with less versus more with less
Financial Performance – Passionately lead and deliver bottom line growth. Maximize revenues and minimize costs by focusing on incremental revenue growth, executing new business revenue initiatives, controlling costs, enhancing labor efficiency and reducing operating expenses
What it takes to succeed:
A passion for customer service
Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills
Excellent analytical, critical-thinking and time-management abilities
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
In-depth understanding of retail financial terms
Knowledge of inventory management concepts
What else is important:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Five years of leadership experience across multiple business units
Experience in a high-volume setting
Previous theme park and retail experience a plus
Proven success increasing sales and profitability
Knowledge of Parkware, MMS, ATRB, Kronos, and Scheduler systems preferred
Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
