POSITION SUMMARY:
The Summer Snowmaking Helper at Arapahoe Basin will be responsible for assisting the Snowmaking Department on a variety of maintenance tasks on snowgun equipment and all snowmaking infrastructure during the summer season.

WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Arapahoe Basin’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of Arapahoe Basin’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Hourly pay range: $21.50 - $25.75
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Repair and Maintenance of Fan Gun Fleet
Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on snowmaking infrastructure
Be familiar with “OSHA” codes and protocols and “Lock-Out-Tag Out” procedures
Be familiar with “Confined Space” procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Able to work in inclement weather
Follows established safety procedures and promotes a safe work environment for snowmaking staff
Performs all snowmaker duties working side by side with staff
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
Can perform physical labor in all outdoor environmental conditions
Vehicle operation to include Company trucks, Rangers
Follow all departmental sustainability guidelines
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability and knowledge to operate basic hand and power tools
Knowledge of lock out tag out
Strong ability to follow Confined Space Procedures
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times
Ability to use full range of body motion and lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to stand, walk, kneel, squat, and crawl throughout a 10-hour shift
Ability to visually and audibly inspect for irregularities in machinery
Able to climb ladders of Tower Snowguns
Ability to perform all job duties at heights with the use of fall protection

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position will work outdoors in a high-alpine environment in all types of weather conditions. Most work is performed around loud machinery sometimes at heights and sometimes in cramped spaces such as a crawl space or machine room. The level of strenuous activity for this role is considered to be high.
