The Senior Payroll and Commissions Analyst will work collaboratively with the Payroll Director to ensure efficient payroll and agent commission operations and develop innovations while staying compliant with all regulations and policies. This individual will act as a lead on payroll special initiatives and work with partners in Accounting, Human Resources, and other internal departments on various initiatives. This individual will assist with payroll processing as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Individual will function as lead on payroll special initiatives to ensure the team department objectives.
  • Performs maintenance on payroll updates and is responsible for testing new or changed payroll functionality, providing the Payroll Director with the proposed enhancements to support the business.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and data integrity of Payroll system processes and recommend solutions and enhancements for adoption.
  • Develop, implement, and document new processes for efficient Payroll processes.
  • Perform payroll application upgrades as well as provide training and technical support in delivering new or upgraded functionality.
  • User acceptance testing for enhancements and upgrades in Workday payroll, time tracking, and absence.
  • Optimize Workday Payroll, Time Tracking reporting to enhance data integrity.
  • Maintain existing payroll and/or commission reports to ensure they are aligned appropriately for the business need or update accordingly based on changes in the business.
  • Investigate and resolve report and system related issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and data analytic support.
  • Serve as an escalation point and subject matter expert (SME) for complex payroll, reporting and system issues.
  • Support Payroll Management and team members with projects and other tasks as required.
  • Work with Commissions Analyst to provide support in review and analyze commission results that support the comp plans.
  • Assist with managing large data sets and working to ensure good controls around the data sets to support commission accruals and payments.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 4-7 years payroll experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (Workday, ADP, or other payroll software)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Commissions or other relevant experience processing commission calculations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential data with discretion.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with multiple groups within the organization.
  • Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail, and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Worked in system supporting commission calculations.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other Payroll Software certifications

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods of time, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
  • Frequent use of a computer, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment such as a telephone, copier, and printer.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, including exchanging information in person, in writing, by telephone, email or video conferencing.
  • Visual and auditory acuity required to perform job duties effectively, including reading, writing, and interpreting information on screens or in print.
  • Hand dexterity, fine motor skills needed to operate a keyboard and mouse efficiently.
  • Reach with hands and arms occasionally.

 

For Hybrid Roles:

  • Must be able to commute to an office setting as required, which may include walking short distances and navigating an office environment.
  • Occasionally moves about the office to access files, office machinery, and meet with others.
