Westgate Gardens Care Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our dietary team. We are a skilled nursing facility focused on resident care, comfort, and quality of life—and that starts with delicious, nutritious meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals in large quantities based on pre-set menus.

• Accurately follow portion control guides and special diet requirements (e.g., pureed meals).

• Ensure food temperatures are properly recorded and documented.

• Keep kitchen and cooking areas clean, safe, and sanitary at all times.

• Assist with meal service and maintain attractive food presentation.

• Maintain proper sanitization (e.g., quaternary solutions in sanitizer buckets).

• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.

• Participate in staff orientation and training.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum one year of experience cooking in a hospital or long-term care setting.

• ServSafe certification required (or must be obtained upon hire).

• Ability to read and follow recipes, meal plans, and special dietary needs.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and reaching.
