What You’ll Do

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide direct care and therapeutic services to residents with pulmonary conditions, ensuring they receive the highest level of support.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management, and rehabilitation.

• Follow schedules, physician orders, and facility policies for patient care.

• Assess patient conditions and identify signs of change, documenting appropriately.

• Plan and deliver treatments, interventions, and care based on priorities and outcomes.

• Report changes in respiratory status to the supervising nurse, physician, and Director of Respiratory Care Services.

• Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and facility standards.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure quality resident care.

• Participate in safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program (Bachelor’s preferred).

• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license (CA).

• Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications required.

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory experience in acute or subacute care preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

• Ability to read and interpret medical instructions, policies, and professional literature.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively.

• Lift and/or move up to 30 lbs occasionally.

• Work in a skilled nursing environment with low to moderate noise.

• May assist with resident evacuation during emergencies.
