TravisMathew is a premium apparel brand that exists because we seized an opportunity—and we’re inviting you to take yours. Back in 2007, we saw there weren’t many companies whose clothing bridged the gap between performance and lifestyle, so we created our own. Inspired by the sun, surf, and sand of Southern California, we became a leading innovator in lifestyle performance apparel by making clothes for real life—plus working with premium wholesalers, building a leading e-commerce business, and opening retail stores around the world. We invite you to join team TravisMathew.

Overview

The District Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for leading multiple high-performing retail locations across a defined territory. This individual is accountable for business performance, people development, cultural stewardship, and operational excellence. As a strategic connector between the field and HQ, the District Manager plays a vital role in bringing the brand vision and purpose to life —fueling top-line growth and bottom-line impact.

We’re looking for a values-driven leader who can scale success across teams, lead through change, and develop people.

  • Conduct regular in-market visits to assess team engagement, talent gaps, and development needs.
  • Facilitate weekly leadership calls and ongoing 1:1s with Store Managers; model real-time coaching.

Business & Financial Performance

  • Own district sales results, KPIs, labor models, and P&L performance; identify and address performance gaps proactively.
  • Create territory-specific business plans in partnership with HQ teams; adapt plans to drive results locally.
  • Partner with store leaders to manage all controllable expenses, including payroll, supplies, and marketing investments.
  • Ensure execution of accurate financial processes (e.g., P&Ls, credit card reconciliations, chargebacks).

Operational Excellence

  • Drive operational efficiency and consistency across stores through systems, policies, and tools.
  • Lead the execution of inventory, safety, compliance, and shrink strategies across the territory.
  • Ensure store adherence to brand standards, including visual merchandising and in-store experience.
  • Monitor and leverage POS and mobile application data to inform strategic decisions.

Brand & Community Engagement

  • Champion brand culture and uphold core values in every store environment.
  • Work closely with cross functional partners to bring brand-building initiatives to life.
  • Support the execution of experiential activations and local community engagement aligned with our purpose.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail, or related field; MBA or continuing education a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive retail leadership experience; minimum 3 years in a multi-unit leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering strong business results through empowered, people-first teams.
  • Expertise in managing KPIs, payroll, controllable expenses, and territory-level P&Ls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS platforms, and workforce planning tools.
  • Ability to travel regularly across district (domestic U.S. travel)- 3 days a week on average.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed and have a valid US drivers license.
  • Role requires frequent time spent in-store and on the retail floor, including standing and moving.

WHO YOU ARE

  • An operator who obsesses over the customer journey and experience.
  • A builder of inclusive teams and psychologically safe workplaces.
