Job Description:
Job Duties:
Create and edit ArchivesSpace records, maintaining hierarchical structures as defined in legacy finding aids. Conduct quality control to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated finding aids in ArchivesSpace. Apply appropriate subject headings and other access points to ArchivesSpace finding aids to enhance discoverability. Review legacy finding aids in HTML, PDF, and Word formats to determine readiness for migration. Identify descriptive elements in legacy finding aids and map them to DACS-compliant fields within ArchivesSpace records. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job classification.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Post-high school coursework/training in library science, archives administration, history, public administration, museum studies or related field, and two years of experience in cataloging, processing or otherwise working with library/archives materials.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in library science with a specialization in Archival Studies (accredited programs preferred), or equivalent professional archival certification, coursework, and experience.
Other: Position can be performed 100% remotely. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
This is a grant-funded position currently supported through June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension contingent on future funding.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic understanding of archival standards and practices (e.g., DACS, EAD). Proficient with computers and software, including HTML, Windows, and Adobe. Strong project management and organizational skills. Self-directed with the ability to work independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
