The Senior Emergency Management (EM) Specialist is responsible for advanced assistance with the management of Auto Club Enterprise’s (ACE’s) emergency management program, developing and delivering emergency training and exercises, assisting with the development of emergency plans, procedures, and other supporting documentation, and serving as a touchpoint for other business units and/or agencies on matters relating to emergency management. Additionally, this position may serve as a Duty Officer on a rotational basis.
Provide advanced assistance with developing planning, training, exercises, and other departments’ crafted documentation related to emergency management.
Assist with the training and management of ACE emergency response volunteers.
Assist with planning, training, and operational outreach relating to the implementation of assigned EM programs.
Assist with and serve as an administrator of the department’s Software as a Service (SaaS), emergency notification system, and other technologies as assigned.
Develop and deliver EM advanced training and exercises (discussion- and operations-based) to a variety of audiences.
Support execution of emergency response and crisis management plans in times of emergency to a facility or company crisis.
Support with the aligning of EM planning, initiatives, and other instrumental goals with organization goals.
Partner and assist with the department’s cross-functional program, Business Continuity.
Partner with applicable business units, leadership, and external agencies as needed for plan development, response, and post-incident coordination.
Perform related work as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree in emergency management, safety, public administration, or related discipline is required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
A minimum of five (5) or more years in emergency management or closely related experience.
Experience in creating and delivering emergency management presentations to small and large audiences.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
Completion of incident command courses within six (6) months of hire: FEMA ICS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800.
Master’s degree in emergency management, disaster recovery sciences, or similar
FEMA Advanced Professional Series
AEM/CEM certification from IAEM
ICS Train-the-Trainer (L-449) certification
HSEEP Certification
5 years’ experience in discussion and operations-based exercise environment
5 years’ experience in emergency and/or crisis plan development
3 years’ experience in resource management as it relates to emergency operations
2 years’ experience in a corporate/private industry environment in an emergency management capacity
