Job Duties: This position performs a variety of tasks beyond basic facility maintenance including skilled construction, installation, altercation, fabrication, maintenance and repair work in one or more building trades and/or equipment maintenance activities. The Specialist works individually or as a member of a work crew, exercising a substantial degree of independence in planning and organizing their own work and performed related work as assigned. Daily maintenance work orders, Preventative Work Orders, Groundskeeping and all other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualification

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis as determined appropriate by the agency

Preferred Qualifications: Certification/Completion Diploma in one or more applicable Maintenance trade(s). Licensed in one or more applicable Maintenance Fields. Special License for EPA applications or refrigerant.

Work hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm including rotating on-call work

Other: This position requires driving. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.


 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skill in: the use of hand tools, power tools and building maintenance equipment; basic office and computer skills including competency in the use of email, building system applications; the operation and preservation of maintenance tools and equipment. Use of basic grounds keeping equipment.
